While not quite beating the record of last month, September has been another very active month for members judging by the number and quality of submissions. As usual we present the selection made by members in two categories - Best Infrared Image, and Best Exposure Technique Image. Also, as usual, I stress the importance of the breadth of styles and techniques used by infrared photographers. While some images are obviously infrared or full spectrum photographs, others are more subtle, using infrared light to alter tonal values rather than to push a white on blue look that is often an infrared characteristic.

Despite admirable help from admins, I have had considerable difficulty this month in making a final selection for the Best of Infrared selection - there have been so many "Top Twenty" candidates. I know if I were to start again, a different set would emerge! Since we ran a feature on people shots in infrared a couple of months ago, the number of such shots being submitted has increased, and I have grouped the selection of those together in the middle of the whole set.
