In this last of my photo essays from Suffolk, I'm showing some quirky photos taken with my Canon 5D Mk III. Along with similar cameras from other companies, the Canon 5D Mk III has a facility for taking multiple exposures, a feature that I had not previously tried. Technically, you tell the camera how many shots, up to nine, that you wish to superimpose on one image, use the exposure compensation control to reduce each individual exposure  by 1/2 stop per exposure, and then fire away at your own timing to complete the number of exposures, either of the same basic scene or wildly different ones, as and when you choose to shoot - seconds, minutes, hours apart. The first image below shows a basic example - a 5 shot multiple exposure with two  people passing by in 4 of the shots. (The camera is tripod mounted.) Thus, the ghosts that you see are 1/5 the total exposure. Hang on, you say, that is a pretty crummy shot - it's a bit out of focus! Well, yes, and that is because I can never do things by halves, and this is not only a multiple exposure, but also a pinhole camera shot using a Holga pinhole lens. Hence the odd feel to it. I've cropped the image to get rid of the circular lens shadow that is seen in later shots.

Image 2 below shows a more interesting multiple exposure shot - again 5 exposures over a few seconds, but with people milling about in each of the takes. You can see who is moving, and who is comparatively static. The shot features one of my favourite pubs - The Sole Bay Inn in Southwold.

The idea of having ghostly forms in the images lends itself to graveyard photography, and images 3 and 4 show a couple of attempts. The third image is really a selfie!! I set up the camera with the Holga lens, and on the 10 second timer. When I pressed the release, I sprinted up to a gravestone, waited for 20 second to ensure the take, and came back to fire the other 4 shots. I am there as a ghost - just look for the muscular legs! The fourth shot has several people's ghostly images in it as they are about to pass through a gate. I thought there were only 3 people, but there may be four in the image....I wonder....?

Finally, a straight forward pinhole single exposure shot of the beach at Southwold - a fitting shot to end on.

That's all for now, Folks. Thanks for viewing.
