The Photo Shoot 6

Mike Loveridge, [link] Henry [link] and my wife and I enjoyed a day's photo shoot under Mike's tutelage at Hartford House Hotel [link] in The Midlands, KwaZuluNatal. The Hotel is part of the world renowned Summerhill Stud Farm [link]

All the images in this series are full spectrum neutral density shots (FS_ND(8)), that is, they are taken with a full spectrum converted Canon 40D camera equipped with an 8 stop neutral density filter (Cokin). The result is a combination of infrared and visible light, any part of the scene with little or no infrared reflection, such as the sky, shows as visible while foliage etc - a strong infrared reflector - shows as "white".

Shot 6 - Tree Reflection - Water reflections show up as a deep blue using this technique.
