Description

This set of three shots (8a, b, c) are of young ladies, very elegantly dressed in a national costume (Latin American country?), who were on parade at a ceremony in Ribat. A visiting dignitary was being accorded a colourful welcome at a mausoleum. I do not know who it was, but the security forces were out and about shooing tourists away and forbidding photographs!

Three "official" photographers (all dressed in black) were snapping away when I decided I would join them! I nipped round the back of the crowd and mausoleum, came down some steps and quickly stood next to the "officials". I managed several shots before the head security man, identifiable by his black leather jacket and shoulder holster, started to elbow his way towards me. I vanished into the crowd before running for the bus. Anyway, these are three of the shots I managed.

That dress looks more Spanish than Latin American (I know mainstream usually put both in a pack). The difference is that Latin American dresses have more heavily indigenous and/or criollo influence, and sometimes changes entirely.
