Thanks Pamela - I just submitted this to dA Flowers and it was accepted within a few moments. I must have a friend there :w00t:This has certainly hit a popular note given it's been up less than 24 hours.

Ciao

Thanks, Pam. I think that's the word I've been looking for: porcelain. Lots of IR images of foliage and flowers come out with this "look" and I've been thinking of how to describe it. You are responsible for this image as I saw these snpowdrops as I was wandering around the local park. I thought "If Tartanink were here she would be snapping these! Then, being slow of mind, I thought "I've got two cameras with me. I could do that!"

Cheers

 they do become a part of you don't they - cameras
I've never tried IR as I've not been a huge fan of it - but your picture certainly changes my opinion. Obviously depends what the subject is though. When I was out yesterday, I kept thinking how nice the snowdrops were, but wasn't picking any to bring inside after what you said/sent  Anyway, they look nice all clumped together

Hi Pam, IR is a bit of an acquired taste because at first it seems a bit odd and "samey" - once you've seen one blue sky and white palm tree they all look much of a muchness. However, when you get into it, there are subtleties of shading and texture not seen in the visible, more concentration on form and composition, and an endless variation in how you use the white balance and channel mixer to create a colour palette. But your shots are crackers (in the nice sense) too!

Cheers

Ha ha thanks for that. Maybe someday I'll give IR a go - there's just so many things / effects you can do with pictures now, which is really good, but it can all become very time consuming ... or maybe that's just me!!!

Thanks Pam - I've noticed how time-consuming and addictive this business is. The plus side includes having lots of new ideas although then there is no time to follow them up!

Cheers for now

Thanks Rebecca - IR photography does give an odd or surreal look. The more you get into the subject, the more subtlety that you find in the images.

Thanks again.
