IR Skyscape 1 by Okavanga IR Skyscape 1 by Okavanga
Lowering skies over farmland near Kirkcudbright. Post-processing with local contrast enhancement. The visible spectrum image would be a dull mid-grey.

Many thanks, Michael. This was taken near the cottage on the MoD range that has been opened to the public.

Cheers

Whereabouts would that range be out of curiosity David?

It's the one near Dundrennan, Michael. You can access it from the old road end at Abbey Burnfoot or from the Kirkcudbright end near the hamlet of Townhead. The walking is very good as most of it is on old roads and tank tracks, and the views of the coast are spectacular.

Cheers

Great pix. Could you bring down the highlight on that field a tiny bit ?

Good point, Col - I might have a go via Raw Therapee, but it is pretty much blown in the original - I've cut about the same amount off the bottom because it is too dominant. Still, this is as much about the idea. If it proves popular I might look again.

Thanks

David
