Couch 4 Infrared

Couch - an installation art work, by Alice Francis [link] was created as part of the Dumfries and Galloway Spring Fling 2012. A traditional Galloway cottage near Castle Douglas was covered in floral stretch cover material. I managed, between rain spells, to capture this instalation with visible and infrared photography (720 nm filter of Canon 40D full spectrum camera).

The first two images show the visible image of the cottage with its cover, and detail of the fabric used - floral design in red, pinks, and greys on a light grey weave.

Subequent images show the infrared photographs - with one or two surprises - see individual shots for details.

A more "artistic" view, but still showing that the fabric is a good reflector of infrared light and hence appears "white", but the doors and windows behind the fabric show through.
