Some brief December sunshine allowed some HDR work with a telephoto lens in the local Park. Processed with Photomatix Pro, auto exposure +/- two stops. Some post-process sharpening.

Compare with image 2 in this series. This image has had its red channel swapped with the IR version, resulting in a change in the colour tone of the foliage in the tree on the LHS.

those little stalks are lost here in the colour version, with some loss of "feel" i think. interesting colourisation

Good point, Mike - the professional eye. The colouration is interesting - some parts of the foliage are clearly different in IR than in visible light.

Pamela- I'm going to be working some more images up like this; I'll be interested in your views on them. It is all to do with palettes again - just like in your works. Our eyes seem predisposed to greens, modulated by other hues. Now when you change the red hues more or different information pops out. So, the tree on the LHS has distinct areas of colour in this image, but not in the "straight" image. Botanists ought to know why. I'm not sure.
